How to use the Grid tool
The Grid tool overlays a composition grid on any uploaded image. Use it for rule-of-thirds planning, proportional scaling, or breaking a complex image into sections for drawing.
Sign in, then open Virtual Artist Lab → Grid.
How to use Grid
- Upload a photo or drawing.
- Choose 3×3, 4×4, or square cells.
- Optionally show diagonals, then set line color and thickness.
- Zoom and pan to inspect details.
- Download or print the image with the grid baked in.
Tips
- 3×3 is useful for rule-of-thirds composition.
- On non-square images, 3×3 and 4×4 cells follow the image proportions. Use Square cells for true squares.
- Diagonals are available for 3×3 and 4×4, not for Square cells.
Grid is free and does not use credits.
