How to use the Grid tool

The Grid tool overlays a composition grid on any uploaded image. Use it for rule-of-thirds planning, proportional scaling, or breaking a complex image into sections for drawing.

Sign in, then open Virtual Artist Lab → Grid.

How to use Grid

  1. Upload a photo or drawing.
  2. Choose 3×3, 4×4, or square cells.
  3. Optionally show diagonals, then set line color and thickness.
  4. Zoom and pan to inspect details.
  5. Download or print the image with the grid baked in.

Tips

  • 3×3 is useful for rule-of-thirds composition.
  • On non-square images, 3×3 and 4×4 cells follow the image proportions. Use Square cells for true squares.
  • Diagonals are available for 3×3 and 4×4, not for Square cells.

Grid is free and does not use credits.
