How to use the Color Picker
Color Picker lets you upload an image, click a pixel, and analyze that color. Without a palette you get an RYB recipe. With a premium palette loaded, you can see matching paints and mix suggestions from colors you already have.
Sign in, then open Virtual Artist Lab → Color Picker.
How to pick a color
- Upload a photo, screenshot, or artwork.
- Click a point on the image to sample it.
- Copy the HEX value, review the RYB breakdown, and adjust paint volume if needed.
- On premium plans, load a palette to see best matches and thinning previews.
Tips
- Click solid areas when possible. Compression can shift single-pixel samples.
- To sample a website color, take a screenshot and upload it.
- This tool does not save colors automatically — copy HEX into My Palettes.
Core Color Picker features are free and do not use credits.
